"Awesome"
August, 2016
We've seen quite a few shows in Pigeon Forge but can't say enough good things about this one. First they are very efficient, meal is brought out in waves so you're not overwhelmed. Servers are super friendly and there immediately if you need anything.
The show.... Wow!!! Constant motion. At no time were you without some kind of entertainment. From acrobatic to wood chopping to dog fetching tricks and everything in between. Wonderful show, wish I could've gotten a CD of the show but they don't offer this. Other than that, we were totally impressed and did pass our feeling onto the GM who happened to be sitting next to us. Super friendly guy btw. If you are going to Pigeon Forge make this one of the must see shows. We booked thru reservepigeonforge.com for our tickets, good prices and great seats

We were advised to come early and that was a waste of time, all they want is for you to spend more money drinking and buying things at the gift shop. The food was ok. It would have been nice if the meal was served all together not bit by bit. The serving and eating of the food interrupted the show, the meal should be finished before the show starts. The show was too short and the quality wasn't there. I would not go again and would not recommend it to anyone. Expensive for what it was.

"Unless you just love horses, choose this over Stampede!"

Our family of four has been to Dolly Parton's Stampede (aka Dixie Stampede) twice before, and both times we were fairly impressed with both the show and the food. However, the Smoky Mountain Adventure definitely tops that show in almost every way. Our cost for two adults and two kids (4+) was $159 including a $20 discount for booking at a Dollywood property. The show is a very entertaining blend of a circus, acrobat show, and musical theatre. It manages to pull of a very Cirque du Soleil-style show with a very Appalachian feel, yet without being too cheesy, comically stereotypical, or patronizing. The acts are well integrated into the storyline in almost every case and our kids (7 and 4) were so amazed, they could hardly eat. My only constructive criticisms would be that dinner and the show need to be more distinct parts of the experience. Because they overlap, you might be picking apart your fried chicken while trying to pay attention to a risky aerial silk show or insane trampoline demonstration. I felt like I missed 20% of the show due to eating (and helping my kids remember to eat). Second, the alcoholic drinks seemed very watery for the price, but the souvenir cups were a nice addition. Finally, considering the above as well as the average quality of the food, I would have expected this to be a wee bit lower priced. The Stampede offers whole rotisserie chickens as a main meat dish, while this one is only a fried chicken breast. While we enjoyed it, I doubt we would return again over our next few trips. At a $100-$120 price point, I would definitely be a repeat visitor. However, I would still highly recommend it to first-timers, as it's a very professional show and a nice diversion from the endless tourist traps of Pigeon Forge.

We attended Dolly Parton's Smokey MOUNTAIN adventure and it was fabulous. It was totally over the top with talent. It was humorous. It was also spell bounding with acrobats. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this show.

"Entertaining and great food"

I must admit, before the show I was thinking "how are they going to feed all these people?". I wasn't expecting anything great. But I must admit, the food was great. Everything was hot and really VERY good. Biscuits, ham, checking, corn chowder. all very good. I was impressed. The show was entertaining. She audience participation. Some singing. Some explaining of the old time partied in the back woods. acrobats, clowns, singers, dogs...it was entertaining. The kids (11 and 14) enjoyed it. Liked the food as well.

"Not What We Expected"

Having been to The Dixie Stampede we decided to try Dolly’s other show. Led to believe their show would be about Dolly’s life in the Smokies we were very disappointed. The show had talented people but they were doing acrobatics and trampoline activities. Not sure how that related to Dolly’s childhood. Also between acts there were 2 people doing skits which again was very odd. The whole show seemed very disjointed. It seemed like someone decided to just throw a variety of acts together with little thought. The entire show lasted less than an hour and a half. The bright spot was the meal. Served during the show similar to The Stampede.
