I am sad to say this run down property is well passed its prime. Old is not always bad. But run down is.. Very uncomfortable beds. 1980s era carpet tv and bedding. Hair dryer that sparks when used. No outlets (crazy but in today's age we have to plug in somewhere to recharge) air conditioners that barely blow cold. Oh and did I mention the big cockroaches. The only things I can say nice about this property is. The staff were very kind, courteous and helpful. The front desk ladies were very welcoming. The 2 times I unfortunately had to interact with maintenance (once for a.c. not working and once for overflowing toilet) they were very helpful and polite. I hope Westgate fixes this propery, the location is beautiful.

"Dumpy motel, no resort about it."

We stayed for a family gathering, and overall the staff treated our group as an inconvenience rather than paying customers. We were not given the rooms we reserved, the amenities were nothing like advertised, and the staff were rude or indifferent. Our room was run down and dirty, the quintessential seedy motel experience. Everything was overpriced, even the restaurant's $11 "breakfast buffet" which would be far outclassed by the free continental breakfast offerings at any chain hotel. I have stayed in some pretty low end motels that I would rate higher in quality than this place.

We booked a block of rooms in the new building a year ago for our large family reunion. They decided to put us elsewhere and broke us up all over the place. Our shower had no pressure and the tub would not drain. We booked a big room for all day Saturday and had them cater lunch and dinner. They did not provide anything to drink at lunch and at dinner seemed annoyed when we asked for butter for the bread. And even though we booked the room for the whole day they ran us out to set up dinner... a buffet.. no reason to have to leave. The hotel restaurant had wait staff that seemed annoyed people actually showed up. All our rooms were very run down and felt dirty. The only positive I have is that it is centrally located for exploring downtown.

"Let's be fair.... for the price in downtown gatlinburg....?"

Ok, it's not the smokey mountains resort, but for the price, can you really complain? 3 nights here for $99 is a steal even with the 90 min lecture which we are well prepared for. Room and bathroom v clean and a balcony view of which dreams are made of. Everything within a walk or a trolley. Don't be put off.

Wanted to take an extended weekend trip on a whim and unfortunately all the hotels were booked up but was told we could stay here for four days and three nights if I took a 90 minute timeshare tour I bit my lip and accepted I was told we would get a great room with a balcony and a hot tub and all kinds of other goodies what we got what is a dump that has not been updated since 1992 the room smelled horrible all the carpets for torn up the linens on the bed were filthy there is no balcony as they put us on the first level when I asked on my timeshare tour how are enjoyed my accommodation I let them know I was unhappy they claim they would "take care of me" but after holding me and my family against our will for an additional two hours after the 90 minute timeshare tour pressuring us to buy a timeshare they did nothing to accommodate the issue when I brought it up to the price people who gave us our three tickets to the waterpark I was promptly told if I was that unhappy they could simply disqualify me and Charge my credit card the regular room rate of $239 per night (I usually get two bedroom chalets for that much) for the remainder of my stay. The only good thing about this hotel is it sits right on the main drag of downtown Gatlinburg so you do not have to worry about parking other than that it was no more than an overrated motor lodge! On top of which they only have one functioning pool on the property and no outdoor hot tub! Stay far away if you can!
