"Not as described"
March, 2017
Not as described at all. Was told no fire damage and there was damage. Didn't effect the room we were in but there were burnt trees all around, taped off construction areas and was a total eye sore. The lot next door to the left was completely taken down and portable restrooms were all over with areas taped off. Was told the pool would be open for our trip and was heated. Pool was not open and had a tarp covering it. With two little girls who had their hearts set on swimming it was not a pleasant experience. We ended up leaving early because there's only so much you can do on the strip with two six year olds and then they had nothing to do back at the room. No DVD player; sticky notes all over the condo with demands and instructions which is very tacky. Lady at check in was very rude and could've cared less about the dishonesty that occurred.
Tip: Stay somewhere else.

"Not recommended!"
July, 2015
We were not able to stay in this unit. We were traveling with grandkids who have asthma and allergies, and the smell of cigarette smoke permeated this unit. It was also extremely shabby and the view looked down on a parking lot with an empty swimming pool that was in disrepair. We left even though we could not get our money back and paid for another room at a nicer place.
Tip: It is not a smoke free condominium. The quality of the accommodations is poor.

"Clean and Convenient"

My husband and 8 yr old daughter stayed for 4 nights. We had our own room with a king sized bed and the pull out couch for our daughter. The condo was very clean. The decor was suited more for older generations as it kind of reminded me of how my grandma would decorate, but everything was in good condition. Full size fridge was great for milk and breakfast items. Not a lot of dishes, but enough to get us by. That seems pretty standard from our experience with other condos we've rented. The pool was a decent size with viewing of the mountains and downtown area. The walk to the shops and restaurants was approximately 7 minutes. It was easy for us, but if you have difficulty walking, it may be a bit much. The stairs off the back of the complex make it extra convenient. We went the the shopping area each nite for dinner. Overall a great place for a great price.

Mrs.Linda at the front desk was amazing!! She comes off as rude at very first but give her a chance and she will allow you to see her true colors. Upon arrival, it seemed booking.com completely almost cost us our trip by declining our card yet never notifying us and even sent a verification email about our stay. However, Mrs. Linda was able to get us in a room (using our card that should have never been declined in the first place). We brought our in-laws along with us. I asked her about a Veteran discount for my father-in-law who fought in Korea and Vietnam. She told us she would give him the discount, handed us the keys to our room and said she would settle up with us later. We asked for a two bedroom condo to accommodate 4adults and 2 kids. She got us a room on the first floor which was a little small, but it suited our needs. 10 minutes later she comes down to tell us that she upgraded us to a bigger, nicer condo on the 6th floor with a sofa bed for our kids, and an amazing view of the July 4th fireworks show and the mountains. She gave the discount as promised and made us feel more than welcome! The pool was great, but the walk to the parkway was longer than we thought. It was especially difficult for my father-in-law. It was manageable however, for me, my husband, and our two kids (ages 9 & 13). That was an easy fix by simply driving downtown when we wanted to spend the day shopping. The room was very clean and comfy. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit. Mrs. Linda, you are a sweetheart and we look forward to seeing you again.

My family was booked to stay at Laurel Inn from June 12-16, 2017. While we were on our way to TN on the 12th, I got a phone call from Laurel Inn saying that our condo had water damage and that we would be moved to the Gatlinburg Chateau, the sister property. I was told to call the Chateau and confirm that we would be coming. I was also told that someone would definitely be there to let us in, even if we came between 6 and 7 pm, when I said we would arrive. Well, I called and left a message. I didn't get a call back at all, but assumed all was well. We arrived at the Chateau that evening, and nobody was in the office to check us in and give us a key. We were so upset. We called the number multiple times with no answer. I left a message. I also called the Laurel Inn and left a message. We didn't know what to do other than frantically search for and book another property. Nobody called me the next day to apologize or explain anything. We didn't think much of it after that. Then, last week. I noticed that on 5/25, my credit card was charged over $138 from Gatlinburg Chateau. I had no idea where that charge came from. I never got an email with a bill or receipt. Well. I called Laurel Inn four days ago to investigate. Nobody answered so I left a message. Nobody called me back, so I called back again two days ago. I got someone and was told the manager would call me and resolve this as soon as possible. I did not get a call from a manager. So, I called again today and asked why I didn't get a call back. The lady at Laurel Inn said she didn't know but gave me the manager's phone number. I called his cell phone just a little while ago today. His name is Kevin Coleman. From the start, he had a horrible attitude. He gave no explanation as to why he hadn't called me back or investigated. He accused me of being a no show that day. I was dumbfounded and asked why he thought that. We did show up and we called but nobody was there. He got very smart and rude with me, and said, "Did you look on the door? There was an envelope with your name on it and a key. There was also an after hours number." He was so accusatory to me and treated me like I was an idiot. I explained that we did everything right, and as instructed. I told him that none of this was my fault, but his. He denied any fault and continued to accuse me of wrong-doing. I was sick of that and couldn't believe someone trying to run a business would act like that to a customer. I got to the point again and said that the charge was well before we ever stayed, and that we never authorized the charge and have no idea what it is for. Again, no apology. He just sighed and said he would take care of it. I had no faith, so asked for details of what would happen. He said that first he had to get off the phone with me (very rudely said). By the end of this horrible call, he said that by tomorrow morning, a refund would be processed to my card. I was pleasantly surprised that I got a call later this evening from the Chateau confirming that I received a refund. I asked why I got charged, and was told it was because I was a no show. I once again explained I was charged well before the check in date. I was then told that when I booked on booking.com, it said I would be charged the amount of one room plus tax. I knew that wasn't true. I relooked at my confirmation email from booking, and it says nothing about that at all. It also says that a valid ID is required upon check in, so leaving a key taped to the door, as the manager claimed he did, was against his own policy, as well as not very smart since anyone could have stolen the key. I am absolutely dumbfounded at all I had to go through with this manager and properties. I am a very nice person, and a rule follower. I promise to all readers that everything I said is 100% true, and that I wouldn't recommend ever staying at either of these properties. Perhaps they are nice properties, but the management is absolutely unprofessional and unapologetic. Don't do that to yourself.
