We absolutely love staying at this hotel we plan on staying there again we've actually started saving for next trip the hotel staff was extremely nice very courteous the rooms were impeccably clean and the maid service was extremely thorough I couldn't find it dirt anywhere the hotel's location was in a great spot as well it was right in the heart of Pigeon Forge within walking distance of the islands and several shopping complexes as well as it had an amazing restaurant in the same parking lot and a Cracker Barrel right across the street me and my husband are both smokers and they actually have a smoking section in the hotel so people don't have to linger outside at their cars it's very nice I really enjoyed my stay and my husband was actually impressed with the hotel which says a lot cuz it takes a lot to impress him overall I would give this hotel 9 out of 10 the only reason why I would give it a nine there not a pet-friendly Hotel

"Not Horrible"
May, 2018
We checked into our room and opened out the pull out bed that our toddler son was going to sleep in and found dirty clothes. After going to the front desk we were moved to another room on the same floor. While this room was cleaner then the previous room it was outdated and could definitely use some TLC and updates. There were two microwaves in the room, apparently because the over the range one was not working. We didn't try using the other one. We actually only used the frig in our room and none of the other appliances. The shower/tub didnt have a drain plug so we ended up just giving our toddler sponge bathes and washed his hair with a plastic cup, but probably wouldn't have wanted him sitting in the tub anyways. The bed was supposed to be a queen but was actually a double and not very comfortable. The mattress on the pull out was very thin, but didn't seem to bother our toddler (I don't think a larger kid would have been comfortable sleeping on it.)

The indoor pool was AWESOME and it has a water slide. The Wood Grill Buffet outside of the lodge was very good (only had breakfast there) and it was reasonably priced. The location is great for attractions just a short drive to everything, and a trolley stop right outside.

Overall this place could use a little updating, but it was decent for the price. We would stay again

"AWFUL"
April, 2018
Shower Curtain was moldy all along the bottom. Toilet did not flush properly, had to hold it down for it to completely flush. Had shampoo, but no conditioner, called front desk and asked if they had some to use that night and she said no walk across the street to CVS. Bath towels were not changed out the first day. Had to go to the front desk for fresh towels and the lady at the desk was not nice at all, it really seemed to bother her that I needed clean towels. Towels are so thin you can see through them and very rough to the touch. The outdoor pool is absolutely disgusting, I totally get that you do not use those pools anymore because of your new indoor water area, but either drain the pools, cover them, or keep them clean. The water was disgusting and covered in sludge. That was my view! Even the poor duck didn't get in that water! The indoor pool area, was nice for the kids. The amount of chlorine in the water and the air was overwhelming. Use some of that chlorine in your outdoor pools.
Got locked out of our room. Had to walk to the front desk 4 times before we finally flagged down a maintenance man in the hall who was able to help us. The front desk was adamant that it was the batteries in the lock.... it was not, they had us checking out on the same day we checked in, so the keys were not valid. They never offered to come up and help. However, the Maintenance man was GREAT!

Check-in was a wait--don't do shift change at check-in time..... Tried to sleep all night with a shower that didn't drip. It RAN. No way to turn the knob off at all. Woke up...NO HOT WATER. Ridiculous....Long story? If you want hot water, you may need to wake up BEFORE 7am...

We are budget-conscious people and don't mind foregoing fancy, modern frills in lieu of value and cleanliness. We were very satisfied with our stay at Spirit Of The Smokies. Exceptional value, wonderful amenities, and friendly staff. It has undergone some recent renovations and can easily compete with hotels that cost much more! We needed help with our fireplace the first night, the front desk staff radioed maintenance, and within 5 minutes a maintenance person was at our door! That is great service! Our Queen/Fireplace room with Kitchenette was clean, roomy, and extremely quiet - and at $44 a night you can't beat it. There were adjoining rooms, but we never heard a thing from the neighbors- not even tv noise! The electric fireplace was a nice touch and offered nice extra heat. The kitchen was a small, but full-sized kitchen with range, dishwasher, micro, toaster, coffee maker, full-sized fridge, and table and chairs for four. And lots of cabinets. The love seat was comfortable and convenient. (We did not use the pull out bed) Linens were clean. Pillows were fluffy. The bedspread needed to be updated, but for the price we could overlook that. The extras were nice- a full-sized Iron, ironing board, blow dryer, coffee maker, toaster, pots, a few cooking utensils and dinnerware / silverware for 4. The room could use a cookie sheet or pizza pan, a few more cooking utensils, a pitcher, more dinnerware and silverware, paper towels, and a larger trash can. But the basics are there and we brought everything we needed from home. The indoor, heated pool was really nice! And big enough you didn't bump into other guests. The slide was fun. It would've been nice to have a hot tub, but again, for the price you can't expect everything! The arcade was well equipped, but we didn't use it- retired grandparents don't really do much video gaming. Lol The only real negative was the little fella in the lobby who kept hounding with his pushy salesman routine- every time we came downstairs, walked in from the car, or left the hotel he was waiting like a rabid rat to hound us about attending a "brief seminar " in exchange for show tickets. Trying to sell a time-share to folks who do not want one gets annoying. Especially after the fourth time in five hours. By the end of the day we wanted to punch the way-to-pushy creep in the face. (And we are not violent people, but geez, take "No" for an answer and leave us to enjoy our vacation.)

We stayed at the Spirit of the Smokies this week for Thanksgiving week. The hotel itself is a bit outdated, the internet is slow and our floor was extremely noisy. The walls are very thin and you could hear every little noise. But the prices were very reasonable, the spa tub was wonderful and overall the room was fairly clean. My niece and nephew absolutely loved the pool area and we all enjoyed the game room. This is a good hotel if you have children and are looking for a good value. However if you are looking for a more quiet and peaceful stay I would look for another hotel that is more updated. Again, not a terrible stay but is is definitely a loud hotel geared more towards young families.

Whenever we go to Pigeon Forge, we usually stay at this place. It's clean, they have a pretty new indoor pool, and a gameroom. There's a few snags, as with any place you will stay at. 1. They don't have free breakfast, but their prices are usually low, so you're going to be able to afford to buy it out. 2. You can put your Do Not Disturb sign on your door, but the house keeper will not obey the sign. We had ours up one morning when she kept knocking on the door. I didn't care for that. We've been coming to PF with our kids since we're relatively close to the area, & don't want to pay a lot for a room. This is out go-to place. Our air conditioner was a bit on the noisy side, but we didn't say anything to anyone because we liked the location of the room.

We’ve stayed here many times. This is our go to place. It is an older hotel and needs some updates, but it is very clean. We always sleep well here. The shower is good with good water pressure. The coffee is good, but you really need to bring your own cups. Their 6 oz. cups just don’t get it! The price was GREAT on a weekday in Nov. My kids loved the pool! Some kid had a uh-oh in it the first night we were there. Staff took it serious, got everyone out and cleaned it up quickly. We used the pool the next night. Lots of fun times and memories made.
