In the middle of October my husband and I took an impromptu trip from Indiana to Gatlinburg, in the middle of their busiest season. After checking online for available places to stay for one night, the options were slim, but Mountain House Motor Inn had a vacancy. After reading other reviews, we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, we found an older motel, but that had been maintained very well. The people were very friendly, the room was very clean and had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. We were able to park our car and walk the few blocks to the center of town, so it was very convenient. It was a great price, not inflated because of the season, and they even gave military discount. We hope to return here again.
Rooms are great, not a better deal in town, friendly staff and room was clean, three guys on a trip to hike mt leconte. Room is perfect for a short stay, highly recommend. Staff was helpful and a great location to walk in town for a nice dinner. Would stay at this hotel again for sure
My family and I stayed here for 4 days the location was great we were able to walk a short distance to the strip which was great to not have to find a place to park in town. The room was clean and beds comfortable. The people at the front desk were very helpful with questions about the area
Our second time with this hotel. Discovered that the back bldg. has larger bathrooms (tho, still pretty small) - Luanne, the manager, is eager to please - friendly and a joy. Room was clean, tho the shower walls hv some kind of crazy art attempt that looks like smeared dirt (not good). This place is typical of the 1960's/70's hotels serving this Smoky Mountain resort. WIFI * purportedly offered and you get a code at check-in / but, neither of us could connect nor could our traveling friends in a diff. room.
