"Amazing Vacation Amazing Place!"
June, 2016
This was our second stay at Glenstone Lodge and I must say they are very consistent. The room was clean and everything worked as it should, wifi was nice and didn't drop out or lag. It can get a little hot in the indoor pool area but it was really, nice with the waterfalls, and the deep section is separate from the shallower section. The water I side is very warm for those that do not like cold pools, however the outdoor pool was much cooler if you like that also. The staff were polite and handled all our questions even when we locked ourself out of our room. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone especially if you have children.
Tip: Indoor pool is humid, Staff is nice

"A good nights rest"
October, 2015
Glenstone Lodge is well located in Gatlinburg for a quick walk downtown. It is an older lodge but was very clean and the air conditoning worked wonderfully!
Tip: It is a busy large lodge so request a room on the backside if you're not with a family.

"Very pleasant stay"
April, 2015
I took my daughter & two grandchildren, ages 6 & 8, for a 2 day stay @ Glenstone Lodge. It was awesome! Kids loved the indoor pool; queen suite was quiet (mountain view), spacious, comfortable, & clean. Staff (all of them!) were friendly & helpful! Breakfast buffet had many selections, convenient & reasonably priced. Internet was not working consistently.
Tip: Historic Trail is a couple blocks off the main drag (Parkway) in Gatlinburg. Parkway traffic was horrible so getting to the hotel takes a while.

I booked two nights at this hotel to celebrate my wife and my nineth anniversary. I found discounted rates on a coupon site and decided to give the place a try. To be honest, I was a bit hesitant to book the rooms, but my budget was tight so I went ahead and purchased the nights. Several of the reviews were not favorable and I prayed that everything would turn out to be ok. Well, from the first glance upon arriving, I was nervous. The property is massive and quite dated in appearance on the outside. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the rooms were clean and updated. Here are some general observations I made: 1. The property is dated on the outside. Reviewers noted that, but I have to say, that sums up Gatlinburg, TN perfectly. The whole town has a quaint but dated feel to it. Glenstone Lodge might be in need of a facelift, but so don't virtually ALL the other hotels there. They are not unique in that respect. My wife and I both came to conclusion that the dated quality of the area adds to its charm. It is difficult to describe unless you go to that city yourself. 2. The rooms were well kept and in good condition. If anything, the bathroom is a bit small. 3. The pool room is fantastic and the hot tub is great! We took our baby into the shallow end and then we tried out the 9ft section. The highlight for me is definitely the hot tub. I was very sore from work the day before we arrived and I was thankful for that feature. 4. The staff is absolutely wonderful! We requested a crib and had it immediately. As you walk through the hotel, ALL the staff that we passed made a point of greeting us. 5. The location of the hotel is perfect. We never drove anywhere or paid for parking. We were within walking distance of everything on the main strip in Gatlinburg. It was so convenient. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and fully intend to return. Do not go here if you are looking for a high-end luxury hotel. It is a simple but clean hotel in a convenient location. Perhaps if more people go there, money will be available to update the outside.

"Reviews and pictures are deceiving. "

We have been staying at Glenstone Lodge and we chose this hotel based on high end reviews that seemed to be very deceiving, after realizing that our room was clearly never updated, and the bathroom was terribly dirty and old. In fact, we didn't even feel comfortable bathing in such a mess, as we found dirt and spots throughout. We also were told that no pets or animals of any sort were allowed. Upon entering, we were bombarded with a dog whining across the hall. Of course, we called to complain but were told there is nothing that can be done, as they cannot refuse service. After two nights the dog-owners checked out, so we requested to swap rooms, because our view was of the air conditioning unit, and we put up with a whimpering dog for days. The clerk, whose name we did not catch, without looking claimed there was already a group arriving. This resort was said to supposedly be affiliated with the Holiday Inn, but there is no proof of this. This is a hotel that will never be recommended or stayed at again by us because of every extreme inconvenience.

Back to the 70s- worst hotel I've stayed at in a long time- or at least in my memory. My brother and I booked this hotel based on the reviews on here- hoping for a quiet nights rest. We were given a room right off the pool. Perhaps we should have asked to switch right away- as the noise kept us up until 11. It was awful- children screaming, the waterfall. There was NO soundproofing at all. We did go into the hot tub- that needs some work- or at least the ceiling needs some attention. We were there before the busy season, I really cannot imagine why they gave us a room right off the pool, we did not have kids with us. The room was clean, comfortable but in major need of some updating. It still had louvered panels/windows above the door that absolutely did not help at all with the sound issue. If you want quiet definitely ask for an outside room or go somewhere else.

The hotel was recently remodeled. It was clean, beds were very good, staff was very friendly. It is located off the main street, within walking distance of all the goings on in Gatlinburg. Indoor pool was nice but a little dated. Outdoor pool looked nice and clean. Didn't try the breakfast buffet but looked better than the nearby breakfast places and will try it next time.
