"Gatlinburg in July"
July, 2018
We loved Gatlinburg! We loved the mountains, the shops, the hikes and the rides. The greatest thing is you can pick and choose what you want to do, as opposed to an amusement park where you cannot come and go for a few days. The Glenstone Lodge was great and we took full advantage of both pools. We even saw a bear when we were relaxing outside on our balcony. It was very relaxing with the stream beside the hotel and the cicadas singing in the trees. We are making plans to go back several times in the years to come.

Tip: Bring your walking shoes, there are many shops in which you walk to. There are very low cost trollies that will take you almost anywhere in town if you do not want to walk.

"Amazing Vacation Amazing Place!"
June, 2016
This was our second stay at Glenstone Lodge and I must say they are very consistent. The room was clean and everything worked as it should, wifi was nice and didn't drop out or lag. It can get a little hot in the indoor pool area but it was really, nice with the waterfalls, and the deep section is separate from the shallower section. The water I side is very warm for those that do not like cold pools, however the outdoor pool was much cooler if you like that also. The staff were polite and handled all our questions even when we locked ourself out of our room. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone especially if you have children.

"Very pleasant stay"
April, 2015
I took my daughter & two grandchildren, ages 6 & 8, for a 2 day stay @ Glenstone Lodge. It was awesome! Kids loved the indoor pool; queen suite was quiet (mountain view), spacious, comfortable, & clean. Staff (all of them!) were friendly & helpful! Breakfast buffet had many selections, convenient & reasonably priced. Internet was not working consistently.

Tip: Historic Trail is a couple blocks off the main drag (Parkway) in Gatlinburg. Parkway traffic was horrible so getting to the hotel takes a while.

"THE WORST PLACE YOU COULD POSSIBLY STAY! RUDE STAFF, NOISY ALL HOURS!"

I wish I could give THIS hotel a NEGATIVE FIVE STARS. This past weekend (09/10/2018), my close friend and I took a 3 hour drive out to this “hotel.” The staff was absolutely DISGUSTING to us and treated us like CRIMINALS. The male hotel manager barged into our rooms while we were changing because we “didn’t answer the phone when he called,” so he just walked in on us. I ran to the door to prevent him from seeing us unclothed but he FORCED his way in with his ID and told us that he would sit outside of our room until we checked out. This was unnecessary, as we were changing TO LEAVE because we’d only a minute prior returned to the room to collect our things. Then, as we went to the check out counter, the woman at the desk was extremely rude to us and said “THERE’S THE DOOR,” when we asked what else we needed to do. She was upset that we were a couple minutes behind on checkout and was refusing to return some items they’d taken from us until we “paid a late checkout fee.” Which made NO SENSE because we were only a couple of minutes behind. I purposely locked the card they had on file after they tried to CHARGE me multiple random amounts. THEY FIRST TRIED TO CHARGE $100 without even reaching out to me. Of course it declined. Then they tried to charge $45 without contacting me. Obviously these charges were nonsensical, as they added up to more than the going rate for the night. DO NOT LODGE HERE UNLESS YOU ARE LOOKING TO BE HARASSED BY THE HORRIBLE STAFF. Not to mention the insane amount of noise made because they were out BANGING on guest room doors at 3:00 IN THE MORNING! This place is just awful!

"Good location, good room"

I looked at this hotel online while searching for a room in Gatlinburg, but didn't want to pay the listed price. So, I took the plunge and purchased through Priceline, and this happened to be the hotel I got with the express deal. Upon arrival, the desk clerk gave me a free upgrade - I don't know what room I had been upgraded from, but I got a fifth floor room with a balcony on the street side of the hotel. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony. The room was clean and very pretty. The only issues I have is the ceiling over the shower is chipping and piece had fallen into the tub after my shower. Also, the sheet had a spot that was pilled and rough. Location is good - close enough to Parkway to walk, but far enough to not have all the traffic and noise. Staff was friendly. A bit overpriced - even going through Priceline. $121 including tax for double queen room.

"Second Time "

I stayed at this hotel in 2012 and said I would never return. My work chose this hotel for a meeting AGAIN, and the room we stayed in this time was worse than the room in 2012. It smelled of mold and the ceiling above our bed was blackened by what I assume was actual mold. Our bedsheets were threadbare and dingy. The room was so tiny. It was one of the rooms that opens to the outside instead of an interior hallway. It does appear that some parts of the hotel may be receiving a facelift, but definitely not the room we stayed in. I prepaid breakfast for $10.95 per person. Don’t do it because the breakfast cost $9.95 for walk-ins. Unlike the accommodations, the breakfast was actually good. I can only hope I won’t be back a third time.

"Two star. Not Three star."
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

As a person with 2,000 nights in hotel rooms, this meets the two star requirements. Its an old hotel that looks and feels like the 60's. Popcorn ceilings, noisy in-room air conditioning units turning off and on all night long, connecting doors with large gaps so the conversation next door might as well be in your room, green/yellow walls, Stalinist concrete power walls. AVOID the side buildings. ONLY STAY in the main building. It was a $15 (lol) upcharge and well worth it to avoid a room with a connecting room door. Nice swimming pools (in and outdoors). Newer Hampton Inn and Marriotts near by for the same price. Nice staff and $6 breakfast can't make up for the retro feel of the hotel
