Rented a Cabin for 3 couples for Valentines Day Weekend and it was great. The cabin was clean, had plenty of room, & the location was perfect. I could not have asked for anything more and the price was unbelivable for all that you get.

I'm pretty shocked by all of these great reviews on here. This is very different from the experience that we had recently. My immediate family plus 5 other extended families stayed here recently for a family reunion in the area. We had all rented cabins here in 2003 and had a wonderful experience then. Unfortunately, the cabins have not been kept up during that time and are pretty dumpy now. All of the families staying in these cabins had some complaints about the conditions. Dirt on bedcovers upon arrival. Broken glassware in the cabinets. Nonworking coffee makers. Carpets that look like they haven't been cleaned (every cabin had this). In our particular cabin (#19), there was broken glass under one bed, dead bugs under another bed (at least they were dead, right?), old plastic outdoor furniture that did not make you want to sit outside and was also poorly distributed (only one chair off of the master bedroom? Two plastic chairs on the spacious lower-level screened in deck?), and poor TV reception/picture. And to top it all off, the decor was terrible (that's a joke ... kind of). It is not the kind of place that you're excited to go back to after a long day of hiking because it just doesn't feel particularly clean. It's not exciting to get into bed at night because it's not particularly comfortable (one problem being just one super flat pillow per person). At one point I wanted to relax in the hot tub. That is, until my (non-germaphobe) husband said, "You really want to get in the hot tub when they can't even vacuum the carpets?" Ew. The good news is that I didn't get bed bugs from this experience, the wifi is free and works well, and there is a nice, new Publix grocery store down the street.

"Great cabin"

We stayed in Eagles Dream ERN818. It was very spacious and had all the amenities we needed. I loved the location...close to everything...no scary roads to get to the cabin! The hot tub was nice and very clean. I only have 2 complaints: if you are staying on the lower level, be prepared for it to be freezing cold and very noisy!!! There is just one air unit and in order for the upper level to be cool, the lower level is VERY cold. We actually ran the electric fireplace on the lower level all night just to keep our kids warm enough down there. Also, if someone on the upper level gets up at night or flushes the toilet, it will wake you up on the lower level. After the first night of very little sleep, my parents were super careful at night and we got better sleep the rest of the week. Overall, the cabin was nice and provided everything we needed for our stay.

"My first cabin experience"

Reviewed July 21, 2016 NEW

Let me start off with the disclaimer that this was my first ever cabin experience. So if I unfairly compare it to my hotel experience, I apologize. The Eagle Ridge property was well maintained and although Google mixed up the directions, the office was helpful when I called in. My family had a 2 bedroom cabin and it was beyond my expectations. I must mention that the bathrooms should have been cleaned a little more thoroughly, but it was manageable and I did it myself. I'm not sure whether or not the office wanted me to wash towels or not. Because when I called for more towels, I only got a few. No problems cause I caught the hint. Since it was a family trip, we utilized all of the extended stay features. We had big family breakfasts every morning (something that rarely happens in our busy lives)! The views were so beautiful and it felt like we were further away than we really were. Shopping, food and attractions were close by. I loved it so much. We will make this a yearly family trip and I may sneak in a couple's retreat 😉

"Almost Paradise - not even close"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed July 20, 2016 NEW

When we arrived, the a/c was set at 90 degrees and the thermostat was reading 87 degrees. 5 hours later it was still 77 degrees in the cabin. As I write this review, it is 12:15 a.m. three days later. The thermostat upstairs is registering 77 degrees. I am on the couch hoping for some relief from the heat in the upstairs bedroom. Unbelievable! One would think for $2000 we could at least be able to keep the temperature below 75 degrees. Maintenance told me the temperature issue is caused by the high ceilings upstairs. I'm not buying. I think the owners need to replace the a/c unit or at least have it serviced. This is ridiculous! Equally as frustrating is the condition of the mattresses. When the master bed is made, one can see the obvious slump in the mattress just by looking at it. The maintenance guy did just what I did when I first saw the mattress -- looked under the bed to see if a slat had fallen. This couch is way more comfortable. The bottom bunk bed downstairs is in need of a new mattress too. When I pointed it out to maintenance, he made a comment about bunk bed mattresses just being like that. My child had complained the mattress was hard. I finally felt the mattress. It's not hard - it's springs are what my child was feeling!! The mattress has no padding above the springs. When you rub your hand across the mattress, you can feel the springs without even pressing down. I am NOT impressed at all with this cabin. I would absolutely recommend against staying in Eagle Ridge North's Almost Paradise. I am very disappointed that a cabin in Eagle Ridge North would be found in this condition. I will say that maintenance came right away when I called about the hot tub not heating, and they cheerfully changed the air filter that I had removed (it did not look like it had been changed in 6+ months / I had hoped the new filter would help the a/c work more efficiently). I have no complaints about the management company, but people need to be forewarned about the mattresses in this place and the heat. If I wanted the heat of camping, I would have pitched a tent. I paid $2000+ for a week because I wanted comfort. Sadly, this so-called Almost Paradise cabin is far from it. If you are looking to rent this cabin, save yourself the trouble and just pitch a tent!
