A very quiet and clean place to stay. A little outdated but the rooms were a great size.It was within walking distance to manyou shops and restaurants. Only bad thing is the laundry facility wasnt usable at that time.

"Great location/stay but needs a little love :)"
August, 2016
Great location, AWESOME pool, creek view is awesome, but the rooms are def in need of some remodeling (especially the bath), but overall was pleased with the stay.
Tip: Very convenient location with an awesome little pizza place a short walk away (Geno's). But not in the middle of all of the chaos. Went during peak season, so a little pricey, but was satisfied and had a great stay!

"stay away"

I have traveled many places here and abroad, but never have experienced anything this horrible. there were huge unidentified stains.. mold in the fridge, some one prior to us, had left a food carry out carton, and soda in the fridge... the trash can by the elevators were full for 2 days. unable to get a refund, paid in advance. this place doesn't even deserve one star... please stay far away from this place,,,

"Affordable Stay"
July, 2016
Nice place for a stay located near many area attractions and a short drive to the Smokies. I liked that it was far enough from the busy downtown area yet close enough to enjoy all of Gatlinburg. Had an issue with our first room but was quickly accommodated to another. The small seating area on the back with the river view was very relaxing. Staff was peasant and very accommodating.

"Nice affordable getaway"
July, 2015
The resort was well located, close to everything, but away from the busier part of town. Easy access to both the Smokey Mountains and Pigeon Forge attractions. Comfortable accomodations with a lovely patio overlooking a running stream. Friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was not what I had hoped for, but over all a good place to stay.

"Good place to stay !!"
July, 2015
I stayed at the brookside resort with my girlfriend and our son for our vacation . Our three nights there were great , it was quiet not too crowded. The a/c worked great, room was nice and clean. You have your own little patio with a couple chairs and a small table. It less then half a mile down the road from all the main attractions such as the Ripleys aquarium. I'd definitely book another vacation here

"Great Stay"
July, 2015
My husband and I stayed here in April. The price was awesome! The room wasn't anything spectacular but it was doable. I'm very picky when it comes to staying at hotels or anywhere other than my home. But I survived staying here! The creekside is gorgeous if you get the right angle. Very peaceful. We slept with the window open and I've never slept so good! My husband had their breakfast and said it was good. We have recommended this place to friends and family and have said to stay here again on our next vacation. Oh, and for us it was in the perfect location. Right down the road from the the Gatlinburg strip and not too far from a place we love eating at!
Tip: what you see on the website is not what you may see in person. But that's for anywhere you stay.

"Nice stream side location, poor house cleaning service."
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed June 27, 2017 NEW
First the good stuff. This is a locally owned and managed motel with a stream side location. Some of the rooms have private decks that overlook a pretty mountain stream. The motel is located a little away from the main downtown shopping district, and is quiet and private. Easy parking. Our room was very spacious. Now the bad. Our room was not very clean. There was a dead roach on our bathroom floor when we arrived. We left it there to see if the house cleaner would clean it up. They didn't over the four nights we were there. Housekeeping didn't even visit our room on the fourth night of our stay. On the other nights, they picked up our used wash cloths, but didn't leave fresh ones. We used our one allotted soap bar down to the nubbins. A new soap bar would have been nice. The towel and toilet paper fixtures had fallen off the wall and were lying on the counter. The chair had a screw out (lying on the counter) and was rickety. It probably would have been dangerous to sit in, so we didn't. I rate Brookside 1 star for cleanliness / service / maintenance and 3 stars for location/mountain stream. Overall 2 stars. We have stayed here in the past with a better experience. This time was a disappointment. I hope they get better.

"Okay At Best "
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

Our stay at Brookside was "okay at best". We normally stay elsewhere, but due to the fires and delays in rebuilding we decided to stay here as it's in the same vicinity where we typically stay. I've always loved Brookside's pool area since I was a kid and was excited to now bring my daughter to the pool. Rooms were mediocre at best. We ended up having to stay over in the building in the back to the right of the office. The area over there almost seems "seedy" and I think some of the employees might even live there. We had a strange woman knocking on our door at 7:45a. After looking out the window and telling her she had the wrong room, she then hung out, sitting in a chair a few doors down for a while. Later on she and another person were sitting in a car for a good 10-15 minutes outside our room, with the car running and almost looked passed out. Just very shady behavior and we didn't feel safe over there. Bathroom was super nice and updated. Not much to be said about the rest of the room. When we arrived I was doing my normal room check for bugs and discovered the sheets on the beds hadn't been changed. This, to me is unacceptable and disgusting. The beds were certainly made up like they were fresh, but when I pulled the top sheet back there were food crumbs and hair all over. I will say they rectified the problem immediately and apologized. The staff seemed friendly, no complaints there. There were a lot of flying bugs in the room, floors weren't swept very well and the room in general is very dated and dark. The dated part was fine as a lot of older hotels/motels in the Gatlinburg area are dated. They definitely need to do something about more lighting. All we had were 2 lamps and one ceiling light with lower wattage bulbs. Room definitely could've been more clean, but I also wasn't going in expecting the Marriott. The breakfast was okay quality and decent choices. Definitely a nice feature to not have to worry about grabbing breakfast out. Also appreciated they still have daily housekeeping. We more than likely will not stay again unless we can get the bigger, remodeled building, but hopefully our "go to" motel will be done by the next time we come down. It's sad to see what was once one of the more popular motels become what it has. I see there seems to be an auto generated message to the negative reviews on here. You've got a long way to go, Brookside. I hope I see better improvements for you next time I'm in town.

We stayed here for a weekend trip. I booked on Expedia. When we pulled up, we were a little concerned. But the inside was very clean and upgraded. The bathroom was beautiful. When you open the balcony door the sounds are wonderful! A creek was immediately under us and it sounded divine!! The kids enjoyed the pool with the slides. So all in all better than we expected!!

"Wonderful place for workers rebuilding the Roaring Forks Baptist Church"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed June 24, 2017 NEW
The resort was old and probably in need of updating, but it was clean, comfortable, and convenient to downtown and to the Roaring Forks Baptist Church. The staff was very hospitable, especially the young lady that did our breakfast each morning we were there from June 5-8. She was very sweet and a hard worker. The resort was also kind to us to give the Builders for Christ group a wonderful discount, while we worked on the church. We would definitely stay there again.
