"A Great Time!"

This was definitely my favorite part of our Gatlinburg trip. The staff was super friendly and funny and made the experience so much fun! They do a good job at matching the right horse to the right person.

"scared out of my mind"
Reviewed April, 2015
I had a good time. But, I was very scared the whole time. my horse got spoked from another horse in a field he jumped the fence and charged my horse. and my horse jumped up twice on me and was spoked and was very on edge the rest of the ride. She kicked another horse in the face. I was just scared the whole time. I recommend a guide in the front and the back. I was in the very back and the guide was 12 horses in front of me and couldn't control the situtuation . Very scary. but, I understand they can't control animals I just recommend two guides on a trip
Tip: wear the helmet

The employees matched the horses up with the riders and did a great job. There was an autistic child that was along for the ride and the guides did a wonderful job. They made him feel safe and were patient. I was glad to see that they made him feel so welcomed.
Tip: There are some great pictures along the way!

"Very friendly and welcoming "

Everyone we encountered was very friendly welcoming and knowledgeable. We done a deal through lazorport that included horse back riding, zip lines, go carts, mini golf and laser tag. It was well worth the money! We had a 1130 appointment and they asked we arrive 30 minutes early to fill out a few forms. We were all assigned horses which only took a few minutes, the horses were well kept and the loading area was too. I really liked the fact that the children are put on horses that take no effort to control they followed in line without any hesitation. We learned that most of the horses are actually leased from local owners during peak season. Once our tour started it was smooth sailing. During the ride there are "check points" but we never completely stopped everyone stayed together very well! Just FYI: Yes it smells like animals...duh it's a horse stable Yes there is horse crap on the trail... Believe it or not they aren't potty trained

"3 & 1/2 rating isn't an option but that's what this deserves"

When we made the reservations to ride, our appointment was at 11 but we were told to arrive at 10:30 to fill out liability forms. We got there around 10:20 but we weren't called for our ride until 11:15. All the horses had to be pulled from the barn and riders had to mount so we didn't leave the barn until a little after 11:40 . The men working at the barn were all smoking in and around the barn as well as around those of us that paid for the ride. A mom from another family joked to her kid that it must be a requirement that you smoke in order to get a job here because we saw almost every single employee with a cigarette in their hand/mouth at some point while we were there. Everyone was assigned a horse I'm guessing based on their weight because they never asked anyone about their riding abilities. All of the horses were filthy. They had mud caked on them and had matted manes and tails. It was obvious that it had been a while since any of them had been brushed or had their hooves picked. It had rained the morning before and this created some mud but if the horses had been brushed the morning that we road, they wouldn't have had mud on their backs and necks. I did enjoy the ride since it involved going up and down small hills and wasn't just a flat ride. We had a very large group (15 horses, 17 riders) so we had to stop quite frequently for those that were starting to lag behind. The horse I was given wasn't the typical push button horse that you can sometimes get on these rides but still knew what his job was. We paid for an hour ride but really only rode for 45 minutes. There are signs all over the place telling you to tip the guide while waiting for the ride, we were told during the pre-ride lecture to tip the guide, and there was also a sign at the end of the ride telling you to tip the guide. I do feel like this is slightly over priced and that should help to cover the guides fees but there are coupons available that you can get at lots of hotels. Overall it was a fun experience but there are definitely things that the barn and its workers could do to improve. There are other options to ride at and we'll probably try another option before returning here.

We went riding with our daughters age 6 and 8. They each got to ride their own horse and did great. The horses were gorgeous and big but were a bit slow which was great for beginners. We rode up and down small mountains for an hour. It started to rain during our ride but we continued riding with no problem. My family really enjoyed it and the staff was great and friendly and waited for us (we ran 5 mins late). I appreciated that. Thanks
