"scared out of my mind"
April, 2015
I had a good time. But, I was very scared the whole time. my horse got spoked from another horse in a field he jumped the fence and charged my horse. and my horse jumped up twice on me and was spoked and was very on edge the rest of the ride. She kicked another horse in the face. I was just scared the whole time. I recommend a guide in the front and the back. I was in the very back and the guide was 12 horses in front of me and couldn't control the situtuation . Very scary. but, I understand they can't control animals I just recommend two guides on a trip

"Blazing Saddles at the Stables."

The employees matched the horses up with the riders and did a great job. There was an autistic child that was along for the ride and the guides did a wonderful job. They made him feel safe and were patient. I was glad to see that they made him feel so welcomed.

"Horse back riding disappointed "

Don’t waste your money much better places than this for horse back riding!!! I took my family of 5, husband wife and three kids ages 4-10 horseback riding. We have done many horse back riding trips in the smokies and chose this place because it said it would share about the history of the Appalachian mountains and take you to historic sites! We were very disappointed and feel this place does not do as they say! There was virtually no history discussed and we passed a recreated distillery. Our guide looked completely confused when we asked him what the history was ! That was the extent of it! The views were depressing. We passed horses in mud filled grazing areas, we also felt the guides were rough on the horses and on those in the group that were first time riders! Though my daughter who is 10 is an experienced rider they treated her like she was a baby and didn’t listen to her at all (rather mocked her) when she told them she was an experienced rider and made her ride a smaller horse right behind the guide. She felt very disrespected by the man speaking to her! They also told several people to slap the horses hard with the reins . I’ve ridden on a lot of trail rides and never seen a guide demonstrate this by cracking the whip so hard on the neck of a horse that people gasped! Mostly what you are looking at during your trail ride is mud and and the zip lining people that are literally zooming within 10 feet of you at points. Don’t expect to see any great views of the mountains! We found the guide we had and the man getting the horses rude and harsh on the horses. Both were guys and I do not know how the female we saw was. Also our group we went with was huge! About 15 or So and we went really slowly! My horse was really slow and it was all I could do to keep him walking . This was not a good experience for us and felt I should make sure other families know what they are getting into! If you are looking for good horse back riding you should go on those that actually go into the mountains and have great views. Hope this helps someone out.

Everyone is great. From the office staff to the guides... All dedicated to a safe, fun time at their facility...We did both the Zip Lines and the horse trail...Zip Line Guides are excellent...Corey and Tim were very safety conscious while providing a great experience...Made us want to seek out zip lining activities during future getaways... Horses are well behaved and docile...say hello to Angel, their donkey mascot that roams the facility... She loves sweets, but is just fine with a carrot...
