"Horseback riding in Pigeon Forge"
Reviewed August, 2016
It was my second time in the area and I appreciated this time appreciated not having to drive so far to go horseback riding. Convenient location in Pigeon Forge, across from the Outlets and close to Dollywood. The staff was friendly and efficient. We had a wonderful experience!
Tip: Plan to get there ahead of time. Traffic is a little heavy on the Parkway at certain times.

"scared out of my mind"
Reviewed April, 2015
I had a good time. But, I was very scared the whole time. my horse got spoked from another horse in a field he jumped the fence and charged my horse. and my horse jumped up twice on me and was spoked and was very on edge the rest of the ride. She kicked another horse in the face. I was just scared the whole time. I recommend a guide in the front and the back. I was in the very back and the guide was 12 horses in front of me and couldn't control the situtuation . Very scary. but, I understand they can't control animals I just recommend two guides on a trip
Tip: wear the helmet

"Blazing Saddles at the Stables."

The employees matched the horses up with the riders and did a great job. There was an autistic child that was along for the ride and the guides did a wonderful job. They made him feel safe and were patient. I was glad to see that they made him feel so welcomed.
Tip: There are some great pictures along the way!

"Beautiful ride through the woods, with excellent views"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed September 28, 2016 NEW

OK, this is tourist riding, but it was fun! The horses know the trail, so if you want they will just lead you around. But they do respond if you want to stop or move around. Mainly, it was a peaceful and really beautiful walking through the woods, and at a couple of places you are pretty high up, and can see the Smokies in the distance.

We had a lovely ride in the Smokies with Five Oaks Riding Stables. Our guide Nadia was friendly and relaxed. Our horses were steady and calm and perfect for beginners. Our only negative was that it was supposed to be an hour ride and we were done in less than 45 minutes. But the ride itself was great and we could have stayed longer. The kids loved it!

"First time ride for my kids....very happy!"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed August 17, 2016

Booked this the day before since weather was supposed to be rainy. Called and received a discount for an hour trail ride so was happy to hear that. The girl on the phone was very helpful as I mentioned that it would my kids first horse back trail ride experience. We arrived at 9:30 for a 10 am ride. Checked in, paid our balance and got weighed. Many rocking chairs on the outside porch to sit and wait. At 10, we went to a platform and got on the horse. Kids were given helmets. Our guide explained how to use the reins and what to do while we were out on the trail. It was hot but such a nice time. Our horses walked the entire trial, never once trotted or ran, which was good since it was the first time for my kids. Towards the end of the trail a photographer takes your picture, which you can purchase afterwards inside. Also t-shirts inside for purchase. Great time and kids had a blast. Ride was an hour. Thanks Five Oaks!

"Granddaughter wanted to ride a horse so......."
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed July 24, 2016

Our granddaughter wanted to ride a horse when we were having a family reunion in the Smokey Mountain area. Her family used the information I ( the grandma) had reviewed before leaving Michigan. The whole family reserved a ride at 10am for their family of 5. Ages of kiddos 12,10 and 5. The people running the stables seemed very nice. Friendly but busy getting things ready for the ride. It appeared the ride was a calm one since it was at a walking pace. Good for new riders. The ride seemed short to me since I thought I would be waiting for an hour after they got started. I guess that the time begins when they get riders on the horse for the whole group. They all seemed to have a good time and that was what it was all about.
